Another Year at The Leaning Tower of Plot

I can't believe another year's over. Seems far too early if you ask me - then again, I'm one of those people who finds that time passes weirdly fast. Doesn't help that I'm still on a strawberry-scented-cracked-out bodyclock schedule. And beginning to understand how Fingon might have felt in The Silmarillion - though I doubt getting smashed to oblivion and trampled by orcs involved cuddling a hot water bottle and cowering in a dark room.

Bleurgh.

However, being too dizzy to stand up for fear of falling over and smashing my brains out on an errant door hinge has given me lots of time to peruse the blog's history, and I was rather surprised (not always pleasantly) by the progress it's made since I started it up all that time ago. During its time in cyberspace, it has:

1) Had its name and web address changed. Twice.
2) Housed a grand total of five badly-drawn comics (which I am contemplating deleting, because they really are awful xD)
3) Given the impression I'm working hard on several projects I never got around to starting.
4) Told you all about my technology and life gripes, while breaking every rule of syntax imaginable (especially in the early 2010 posts ... oh the horror ...)
5) Shown videos, pictures and animated gifs that I think are truly hysterical.
6) Revealed the author's first name and an initial of her last! Le gasp!
7) Undergone format changes that have nearly driven said author insane.

Okay, so none of those look particularly impressive - or even that coherent, I must say. But, if you've been with me from the beginning, the change is noticeable through the posts. You can tell the author's growing up and getting different priorities, eh? (Well, mostly. Not where entertaining videos are concerned, snee hee!)

And now we look to the future which, as we all know, nothing is entirely certain in. One thing I am certain of, however, is that there are going to be changes, big and small, not just in me personally, but in the blog too. I'm thinking of doing some reviews of books and movies and things, if that would interest you, and a few more topical non-my-life-related posts. But I will still persecute you with things that make me laugh. There's no avoiding that I'm afraid. Mwua ha ha ha ha ha.

On a more serious note, 2012 will be a big year. I'll be a proper published author, for one (more on that later), but at the same time I'll be looking for university and - le gasp - life after school. Then there's the London Olympics and, some believe, the End of the World, and no doubt all manner of other forms of chaos that are bound to blossom. It's been a big change since the days when I was posting my gripes about cousins sharing my room over Christmas, griping over the edits in my now completed trilogy and had yet to work out I could post a video direct to the blog instead of giving you url links.

But none of these changes would have been possible without you, dear readers.

Thank you all for sticking with me this far - I would be a very sad bunny if I didn't have you lovely people to brighten my day and laugh at my sheer ineptitude for life in general. You're an amazing bunch, and my life would be a little bit less bright without you all.

Now, hold onto your hats and keep all body parts safely inside the blog at all times. We're boldly going forwards, and I can't find reverse! Wheeeeeeeee!

  1. I subscribed under a different email address, and am still not receiving email updates. I don't know what's up with Blogger, Spook, but it's pretty useless. I suggest you switch to WordPress, where at least the emails get delivered....

I am therefore not responsible for keeping up with your posts, and if you want me to read one in particular, you must link me. But I do that to you anyway. So we're even.

  2. Hence why I have a blogroll where I can keep track of it - keep track of it on your dance blog if you can. Bit of a faff, but it works :)

  3. No Del. I'm not getting e-mails from Wordpress, but definitely getting them from Blogger, so something is this world has gone crazy, which really ought not to be surprising. :}

And to Spook :} Well I haven't been hear since the beginning, but I'll be here all this next one and probably the next, and the next and the next.... Aren't you glad we're friends?

  6. @Cathryn - Hmm, that's a little odd. WordPress has had a few issues in the past, but seems to be fine now, and I haven't had any problems with it over the past few months. Blogger on the whole is working, too - just not Spook's blog, and it's been like that ever since she changed the name. I think she confused it.
