Packing!

Let's play a fun game called "let's see how many things Charley can pull out and shunt into boxes in the space of half an hour".

I'm not usually a very messy person, but when it comes to packing up my room at the end of term . . . well. Even my vain attempts to organise it by putting things in piles doesn't really help the general effect of chaos.

I'd take a picture of my bed, too, but I can't zoom the camera out far enough to give you a full indication of its occupation by the forces of Things I Own.

And the best part? This isn't even the majority of my work, yet.

Admittedly, this is a lot easier than in previous years, when I've had to take down absolutely everything because we alternated rooms every term, but my capacity for mess-making is still very much in play.

Still, as long as I can clear the bed so I can sleep in it - what little sleep I'll get after tomorrow night's Christmas party - then I shall contain the screaming ball of Clean Freak until I can wrestle all my things into the back of a car to drive home on Saturday.

All the way through Europe. Which, I am informed, involves snow. What fun.

Nevertheless, I shall be back with you all on Tuesday with lots of new and exciting things - more vlogs, possibly, definitely more book reviews, Writerly Tips and festive bouncings galore!

See you all then!

  1. O.o Driving ALL the way through Europe? Snow or not, that's so on my list-of-things-to-do. As for your room! :) Haha! Good luck sorting...we move so much too, I gave up keeping lots of things. Except books. There's always room for books.

    1. Heh heh, we only go through the norther bit, which looks pretty much the same as everywhere else, and we're on motorways the entire way. Not quite the tour I'd prefer, but hey ho, one day I will.

Likewise. Exactly likewise. I will throw out clothes and random things galore, but NOT MAH BOOKS xD

    1. Hiding. I've instructed them to stay out of the way of camera lenses to avoid detection. I haven't started packing my cloaks yet ;)

  3. Good idea. You won't want the police to come across this blog and see their faces. ;)

  4. Driving? O.o

You know beign from the States gives me an odd perspective and I forget that Eurpoe is the size of our country, and countries are the size of our States...

For some reason I'd though you would fly home, but with all that stuff driving does indeed make more sense.

Do you put the car on a Ferry to cross the channel? Or will it go by train on the Chunnle?

    I'm so fascinated now! *grins*

    1. We would, but mum wants to bring back a lot of stuff, and that would be over our 20kg weight limit per person. It being Christmas and all.

We're going through the Eurotunnel, which is a lot faster and more reliable this time of year as well. And we only wibble through the top part before heading deeper into Germania. Still takes the better part of a day, though. *sigh*

    2. He he, that's like us going to my mom's. It's and 8 to 10 hour drive. the other grandparents are further taking 14 to 18 hours. and that's just going up and down 1 coast!

  5. I can't imagine having to pack up my room. Then again, I've lived in for four and a half years and on that occasion it only moved from the room next door - which I lived in for eleven years.

The thing is, about 60% of my room is books. The rest is junk. Neither of those are easy to pack.

    1. Likewise. But schoolbooks can mostly be relegated to the trunk - pictured - and most of my other books are at home. Moving THEM is always . . . entertaining.

They never give me enough boxes.

    2. I'm working on a catalogue of the books I own. I've done about half and it's around 150, although I haven't even checked how many there are in the corridor.
