Overload Anticipated! Warning! Warning!

Another very rapid update from me - proper posting will resume next week, honest!

Some very quick things you may like to know about my life:
  • On Sunday, I fly back to school again.
  • On Wednesday, I take the ELAT - English Literature Aptitude Test - as part of my attempt at gaining a place at Oxford university.
  • On Thursday, I will have a practice "interview" with a full-time academic in my area as preparation for the occasion of being called to interview at Oxford (if I am).
  • By Friday, I need to have sent off two pieces of marked work, also for Oxford's perusal.
  • My History coursework needs to be completed by the end of that week.
  • My English coursework needs to be drafted after inspection by the teacher, sometime the week after.
  • I need to amalgamate more research for the school debating team, and attend the event as a planted nasty-question-giver.
And that's on top of the 50,000 word novel, ten-tonne-mountains of schoolwork, and heck knows what else might creep up on me in the meantime.

This is going to be fun!

However, to prevent you all from getting bored, I'm going to make my NaNoWriMo updates weekly only - every Thursday, I think, is a good day for that. This is both to save you the mind-numbing experience of being deprived of my regular posts, and so I have more entertaining typos and stories to tell you of during each update.

As I accidentally castrated my narrator with a typo last chapter, I sure there'll be no shortage of those.

Enjoy your weekends everyone! I'm off to try and hit 10,000 words before supper time.

  2. Wowzers. You are one busy woman! But busy is usually good. I like busy. But I just got over a super busy period of my life and I can't lie that I am happy for a rest. So maybe you'll be glad for December and Christmass and a good ol' break. :D
You want to go to Oxford? That's awesome! What degree in specific (I assume writing related... :D)

    1. Haha, it's a very good thing I'm busy too - I'll be stressed, but the satisfaction of getting it done will be massive.

Oh, I will - when I'm not working then too, haha! No, I joke, I will be glad of the break, especially after all the school christmas business!

I do - for English Literature, no less! Their second most competitive course . . . wish me luck? ;)

    1. N'awww. Uni holidays are huge, though! You could get home for eons if you wanted to - Oxford terms are especially short!

    2. Yes, but the cost can be prohibative for some families. Air fare is expensive!

Still I think you ought to apply Neville's Navel. Who knows maybe they will want you so much they'll give you a scolarship your parents can't refuse!

(what? writer as dreamers and my mom taught me how to dream big, while working with what you got) *grins*

      Oh and FOr Charley - GOOD LUCK HUGGGGLES! (from space with giggles) - dont' ask... just.. you kow... Muppets in Space from the Muppet Show... :}

    3. Yeah, I'm not worried about the time, but about the airfare. Although I'd love to go to college in California and that would be pretty far too...

    4. Hmmmm . . . the air fare I'm afraid I can't help you with, but would it not be worth it for the best education on the planet? We don't get a lot of scholarships here in UK unis, but you might be able to manage one.

  6. You did WHAT to your character? Sounds painful!

(I turned my character into a shed for a while. Given that one year I had a character CALLED Shed, though... well, it could be worse.)

    1. I castrated him . . . spayed him, as it were. Mis-spelled "clock" with the vital omission of a letter.
      Fixed it, though. Thankfully.

Ahehehehehehe, oh my . . . do I even want to know?
